Microchipping

On 10th June 2024 it became a legal requirement for cats in England to be microchipped. Microchipping became compulsory for all dogs in April 2016.

Microchipping is a simple procedure in which a small chip is placed between your pet's shoulder blades. This chip contains a unique identification number which, when scanned, will show up in a system along with your address and contact details, so that you can be reunited with your pet.

Microchipping is a safe and effective way of identifying your pet if they get lost.

Book an appointment to get your dog or cat microchipped at Ark House Vets today.
